There's a story behind this wreath.

It's based on another I saw when I was window shopping in Old Folsom. The wreath I saw was similar in that it had ribbons in the center creating a star, but the ribbons were black, and around the outside of the wreath were skulls. The impression I got from the wreath in the shop window was of something dark, and maybe even a little evil. I wanted to create something that was beautiful, something that would make me feel happy to look at, so I began work on this wreath.

I decided to do it in fall colours, and I was hoping to have it finished in time for Mabon, but I've been feeling a little under the weather, so I finished it today. It was a bit of trial and error figuring out how to do the ribbons and flowers, but I'm pretty happy with how it came out. The only thing I can't decide on is that bow at the bottom. I kinda like it, and kinda don't. What do you think?

Technical Info: Wreath is approxamately 10inches across, the flowers are silk (for the sake of being able to reuse the wreath), and the star was created using three separate ribbons to get a sampling of fall colours in there.

Thanks for looking.

I like it without the bow.

I think that the flower and all add the only oomph it needs. :)

Nice work.

Good stuff. :)

I've always had a fascination with ribbons... I think I like it better with the bow. But really, it looks complete either way, which is odd. I guess it's up to you. =p

So pretty, though. All the darkness and death people put out can be so overwhelming. And I know, I convey the image too often in some of the writing I did. e.e

I haven't read all the description... Did you make it for Autumn Equinox?
It's beautiful!

This is really pretty, and I don't mind the bow at all.

:giggle: I think it's only human to have a facination with things morbid, I was just a little irked that this store supposedly advertising itself to the Wiccan/Pagan community would have something so....depressing. We're not all just depressed highschooler, dammit! Some of us are depressed college students! ;)
