I've been out of school for about a month and haven't managed to catch up on the deviant stuff. I've been strangely busy.
I had a wonderful time with ~Catchmandkillham when he visited for my graduation (which was awesome), and we took lots of pictures. Sadly, I haven't even looked through those pictures yet! Soon...hopefully.
Graduation went smoothly, I didn't even trip on the stage. It helped that I did have to go up any stairs, but I'm still impressed with myself on that count. I ended up graduating Cum Laude with my BA in English Literature. I also got to graduate with my Student Athlete sash, which was very special. It was nice for them to recognize the effort we athletes put in to be able to balance our sports and our academics.
Since graduation I've been working my butt off! I've been doing some graphic design work for my local Renaissance Faire, trying to pump up the advertising so we can do better than break even this year. For those in the Sacramento area, the information can be found here --> [link] Remember, a portion of our proceeds benefits the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation, so it's a great cause. Also, it should be a lot of fun this year. Several new vendors and attractions, including the Sacramento Shakespeare Co. They'll be putting on a great show! Keep a lookout in the Sacramento Bee for an ad and a coupon for $2 off adult admission.
In addition to the graphic design stuff for faire, I've also been working on costumes: my own, my brothers, and his girlfriend's. I have no idea if I'm gonna get mine finished in time, but there'll be costume rentals at the Faire, so I can also borrow a couple pieces if I don't quite get mine done. I'll have to get pictures of my brother in his costume. His is rather piratey looking, and it suits him well. I haven't seen his girlfriend all dressed up yet, but I'm sure she'll look lovely.
I have some metal work to post as well. Again, I've taken pictures of the work, but haven't had a chance to actually go through the photos and get them ready for posting. >.< Soon.
Art-type things aside, I've been working near full time at Peet's coffee again, which is actually very good. Not only because I'm making money again (yay!) but I also really enjoy what I do. Silly, mayhaps, but it's a fun job with good people. Lots of friends.
As if all that were not enough to keep me busy, I'm in the process of moving! That's right, I'm leaving the Sacramento area. Although I dearly love many of the people I've met here, I am NOT a city girl, so it's back home to Sonoma County for me! I'll enjoy being back home since I've really missed being with my family while I've been at school, but I'll also get to work with my private pole vault coach again, and I'll be assistant coaching for his club. It's also looking like I'll be assistant coaching track at my old high school as well!
So all of that for the purpose of explaining why I have over 500 message in my inbox here on deviant. Over three hundred of those are deviations, and I'm gonna try to look at all of them over the course of the next few days. I probably won't be commenting on all of them, but I will be looking and admiring, and I'm looking forward to seeing all your lovely art again! Speaking of which, it's about time to go start enjoying. Hope you all have a lovely evening!

from the pictures you've posted, it looks like your ren faire is better doing than ours is... ours just got new ownership this year so we'll see.....too bad we couldn't do a "ren exchange" ya? swapping some actors or shows for a season, just for something new?
